Texas Robbery Charges

The charge of robbery in Texas includes any instance of using threats or the use of force to take someone's property. This can occur in a store, someone's home or any location. Like burglary, robbery is a second degree felony offense. If a weapon is used or if anyone is injured (aggravated robbery), charges can be raised to first degree felony.

The charges of a first degree felony versus a second degree felony are as follows:

  • A second degree robbery conviction can result in 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
  • A first degree felony conviction can result in up to 99 years in prison as well as a $10,000 fine.
